Blog Journal #7

I was not able to find any school websites that provide information about teachers beyond a staff directory. However, my English teacher from high school has a website separate from our school website. He posts the schedule for the week for each of his classes and all of the due dates there. He also has a quote, word, and poem of the day located on the website. His website also contains older posts, so students are able to see work that was due in past weeks.

I envision myself using technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities efficiently and effectively by implementing productivity tools. The specific productivity tools I see myself using include Grammarly and Trello. I have experience with Trello through my current job. I use the application to create checklists and keep track of what I need to accomplish. I will use Grammarly to check my writing for grammar mistakes.

I enjoyed using PBWorks because my group was able to complete our work remotely. I thought the website was a bit outdated and the pages that it autogenerated when I created the website were not very useful. I also thought that because it was outdated, it was not aesthetically pleasing. I could use a wiki with my future K-12 students by having them create their own websites and work together to share information that they gather independently.
